Brain and music

By Louis Yagera

Since the last 30 years, we had heard a lot of talk about the influence of music on the brain. Many scientific papers have been published but the problem with scientist studies nowadays is that there is a large numbers of fraud, nowadays in the scientific world if you aren’t published, you don’t exist, it takes a certain cost in money and time to verify the result of a scientific study, many works go unverified.
Unreliable studies probably exist in the field of brain music, the best you can do , its to try some of the studied pieces of music to see the effect on you.

Mozart will make you smarter ?

According to a study of University of California (Irvine), scientists raised the IQ scores by 8 to 9 points of students by simply having them to listen to 10 minutes of Mozart’s Sonata for pianos in D Major, K448. The gain in IQ faded after only 15 minutes. So good music to listen when you have homework to do.

Tomatis Effect
Energizing the brain, it is what the Tomatis Effect is all about, Dr. Tomatis discovered that high frequency sounds (8,000 hz range) such as the music of Mozart. Exercises the middle ear and can provide a range of health benefits including better sleep, concentration, hearing improvement, the diminution of tinnitus, and generally enhanced mental functioning. However, our ears are no longer accustomed to listen sounds at such frequency, Tomatis had to design a special electronic ear to help people to take benefits of the Tomatis Effect.
